EMMA SAUNDERS & WE ARE HERE COMPANY

Emma Saunders is an Australian dance artist who works as a dancer, choreographer, director, educator and curator. She is a co-founding member of the award-winning Sydney based trio, ‘The Fondue Set’, and was the inaugural Dance Curator at Campbelltown Arts Centre (2008 – 2012), where she curated over 40 new dance projects.

For OpenField, Emma will be presenting a pop-up of “Encounter”, originally commissioned by Form Dance Projects; a multidisciplinary site-responsive contemporary dance production with young people and about young people from Western Sydney and south coast NSW. The audience will experience an encounter with the dancers at times touching on the unknown, the other, a bit dangerous, reckless; and at other times curious, joyful, timid, awkward and playful.
