NOEL WELLINGTON
UNITING CHURCH COMMUNITY HALL WALL
Uncle Noel Wellington is a respected local Aboriginal artist and Jerrinja Elder. He makes contemporary representations of traditional carved poles and has work displayed throughout the Shoalhaven region, including on country in Crookhaven Heads and Callala Bay, as well as in several education centres.
For OpenField, Wellington has designed a mural based on the tradition of carved poles and the local landscape. This will be the first legacy public art in Berry by a First Nations artist.
